In 2002 Salt Lake City hosted the Olympics.  They wanted volunteers, LOTS of volunteers.  Brenda decided to volunteer, and asked me to do it, too.  It would be so fun!  We would be able to volunteer together.  It was a year before that when people made the commitment to volunteer. 

Brenda was divorced and living with us.  She had just become a mom.  I had been working part-time, so it wouldn't be that difficult to volunteer.

A year later, 2002, I just started a full time job.  Brenda had a 1 year old.  Brenda worked days, I worked nights as a volunteer.  For 3 weeks of the Olympics we rarely saw each other.

As things turned out, I won an all expense paid trip to Switzerland - for 1.  Yahoo!  My hubby was in the air guard, had just returned from a deployment out of the country, and the air guard would not let him leave the States.  10 days before the trip, the Olympic Committee changed their minds and let us take someone. 

I couldn't take my hubby, so I took Bren.  It was a rush to get her Visa and everything ready.  Her baby's daddy took her for those 5 days we were gone.

As it turned out, Bren met a guy that was quite taken with her.  They spent a lot of time together, and I guess they kissed.  When she picked up the baby and was telling her exhubby about it, he was a little jealous of that.  They started dating again, and remarried. 

What a blessing that trip was to me.  Bren & Pres remarried and had 2 more children.  What a sweet family they are to me.
