A Little of this . . .and a Little of That

It's been a very busy summer. I haven't had much time to blog. We went on a whirl-wind trip, and I'm still a little wound up about it. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law wanted to take a fast trip to Flaming Gorge. We all like to fish, and raft down the river, just below Flaming Gorge Dam.

My hubby & I left SLC at 5:00 a.m. We had a little accident with one of our new pontoon boats. My hubby ended up walking the whole day (Saturday), My brother-in-law had made hotel reservations in Vernal. It was midnight when we got there, after driving, running the river, and fishing all day. We were all exhausted.

Well, remember, we (my hubby & I, especially - we left an hour to get to D & K's house). We're on main street Vernal - with only sheers to the window. My hubby looked all over for privacy blinds, I looked all over. We checked out the whole window frame - nothing. It's midnight, we're tired. We took a shower & went to bed - that's until about 6:00 - when the sun came up, because the light was just coming throught the window like crazy. We got up & got ready for the day, exhausted from the day before, and not much sleep. We had breakfast, and talked to the guy at the front desk about the curtains. He came up to the room, felt to the WAY BACK - not a place I'd be looking for the privicy blind, and made some condisending remark - making us feel really stupid. We paid over $160 for that room!!! It didn't seem worth it for 6 hours of sleep. After having to call the regional office, finally we got $10 off. Someone told me I should mention that it was the Holiday Inn, recommended by the Chamber of Commerce. I didn't feel like it was a very good value for the money.

Sunday, we wanted to do a little fishing, and just went below the dam. My hubby & his bro caught a lot of great fish. We brought home the limit, and boy, were they ever good! Sometimes a good fish makes everything worthwhile.
