A Little of this . . .and a Little of That

Thursday, January 29, 2015

On a serious note,  I've been thinking about something that has bothered me for a while.

Sometimes someone does something to us that seems pretty traumatic.  That person doesn't realize how that has affected us.

Someone at work reported something I did, which I should not have done and I was on report for three months.  I ended up not working with this individual for a few years.

I saw this person in a store, I started shaking, got panicky and ran out of the store!

Things worked out that we were in the same work area again.  I had all of this trauma, and this person didn't act as if anything had ever happened.

So . . .

something that causes us pain is our cross to bear, and we need to find a way to work it out for our benefit, the other person probably doesn't even care.

Forgiveness is for ourselves.  It will set us free from the burden of carrying it with us all the time.

I've read the five "Walk" books by Richard Paul Evans.  He explains it much better than me.

When I finally realized how much that report had ruined my life for months, bothered the person - zero - I had to find my own way to let go.

It's the start of a New Year.

I would like to blog more.  I want to learn new things, try new recipes, read more books.

My husband's goals for the year are to be more kind and have more patience.

My goal might be to have more patience when I'm driving, and not get so uptight over jerky drivers.  It's Utah - what should I expect?

I'm feeling sort of bad.  One of my daughter set a goal to not drink pop last year.  Both her and her husband accomplished this goal.  A couple of the guys at work started making dirty diet cokes, and I got really into it.  I would tell my daughter about it - and it didn't help with her goal.

I promised my daughter that I would buy her the first dirty drink of the year - as she had a pop again.  She got this tiny little thing - put some coconut and peach flavorings into a Pepsi along with a bit of half & half.  She said that she didn't miss the pop that much, but the dirty Pepsi - well, just maybe I had gotten her off to a year full of pop!

I'm going to try and be a better influence in my kids lives!
