H A P P Y H A L L O W E E N - from the little Monkey.

Happy Halloween!!
Oh, and Happy Birthday,
C!!

Two brothers shoot two "matching" bucks. The older brother shot the older buck. The younger bro shot the younger buck. It is amazing that these horns are so similar. The front buck was shot in Wyoming - the back one in Utah, and a couple of weeks apart. That's my facinating deer hunting story.

OK, time for a blog about IKEA food.

At the first of the month, Al & I went to IKEA for the advertised "Prime Rib." This was the left -over fatty stuff. It was HORRIBLE!! It was boiled beef, not roasted. It had sat in water, tasted like a couple of days. It was sad - the boiled potato was the highlight of the meal. NO MORE prime rib at IKEA.

Last night, Al & I went to IKEA. The whole time we were there - it smelled of cinnamon - a glorious cinnamon smell - just like hot rolls - cinnamon. Well, it was hot rolls - or buns, as they call them. We each got one - they were very good, sweet and sticky. I would get one again.

Our 99 cent breakfasts were pretty good. It wasn't gourmet dining, but the the money - it wasn't bad. Some of my grandkids think it's wonderful - so for them, we'll go back.

The Kids & G-pa take a rest.

Those chairs are really comfortable!
Time to go home.
These were taken a little later, and not at IKEA!

The kids are eating at IKEA's - gotta love breakfast!

Here are a few pics
from our last trip - well,
my first trip, to IKEA.
We had breakfast,
toured around - for 3 hours,
and finally, made a few purchases
and came home.

YUM!! YUM!!

Breakfast at IKEA's!

Who could ask for more.

I just thought this was so cute - twinners!!
(my car is on the right!!)

Have you ever been to Caputo's? They have the best bread and sandwiches. I found a link to lots of recipes, by one of the owners - at KSL.com - just search for food, and you can find the chef. I haven't looked at all of them yet, but I found a great recipe for summer pasta!

OK - here's the link:

Enjoy!

A new lady at work has done the CUTEST things - like this fun in the sun idea. She made tapioca pudding, crushed a few teddy grams on top for the sand, put 3 watermelon cookies and some gummie sea creatures (including an octopus) all around. It really brightened my day!
THANKS "L"

What could be better for the
Fourth of July?

My mom is in the flag shirt. I have 3 of my sisters, my two daughters and my daughter-in law here at the parade. There are some of my grandkids, neices, nephews, brother-in-laws and several of my grand-neices.

A good time was had by all.

I wanted to post some pics of my last cake.

I made this June 7, 2007.

I have the best recipe for buttercream frosting.

This is the LARGE batch!

( you could make 1/3 of the batch & still have LOTS of frosting)

6 pounds of powdered sugar

6 cups of Crisco (Really - use Crisco - it really works)

1 3/4 to 2 cups of milk

1 tablespoon vanilla (clear for whiter frosting)

1 teaspoon of orange or lemon extract

Beat for 10 minutes - those last few minutes of beating really make it fluffy.

Store in a covered container - upside down if you are going to save it for a while. Enjoy!
